About
Willa Fok(b.2002) graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2025 with a bachelor degree in Visual Arts. She specializes in mixed media to explore the complexity of human emotions.Willa’s artistic approach blends symbolism and expressionism through metaphorical imagery and sensory engagement. Simultaneously, her practice focuses on self-integration, investigating the flow of consciousness and subconsciousness to create space for inner dialogue.
The Wheel of Fortune, the cycles of thought, the stages of life—all exist within an eternal flow of change and return, bringing us with a sense of uncertainty and wandering. This work is a temporary sanctuary, offering a moment of stability amidst this constant flux. Eastern and Western, ancient and modern, wisdom are all organically intertwined in its form. I brought Eastern materials like Chinese herbs into dialogue with Western Jungian theory of the Self. Ancient rituals, like mandalas and medicine wheel, coexist with modern technological elements like brain scan and Prozac(or any other medicine). The human pursuit of wholeness and spiritual belonging is universal. The true remedy may lie within the transcultural and inclusive wisdom.
