About

I use digital media as a creative medium and am passionate about exploring the interaction between people, both among themselves and with machines and nature.

Countless nonhuman species have coexisted with us for centuries, yet our understanding of them remains limited. Biologist Andrea Hajnol pointed out, that the scientific community has long measured other creatures' intelligence by how closely their organs resemble the human brain. "Hierarchical metaphors for ordering beings have shaped not only human perceptions of nature, but also our strategies for managing it.” Considering humans as the measure of all living beings is both arrogant and irrational. "Beings" is an experimental game that immerses players in a nonhuman world, challenging anthropocentric thinking patterns and encouraging perspectives beyond the human experience. In the game, players land on Wu-Vo, an artificial planet designed to be humanity's second home. The depleted resources have been redeveloped, and some extinct species have been revived. However, as the construction of the planet was nearly completed, people working there disappeared without a trace one by one. Scientists hypothesize that the people who disappeared became other life on the planet, but no one is willing to risk their life to prove this hypothesis--until now. Players will experience constant and unpredictable transformations into various species, from iguanas to harpy eagles, and even plants. They cannot choose their avatars but must adapt to each creature’s abilities and life, embracing a truly nonhuman perspective. At the same time, the game combines scientific research and artistic expression to try to authentically recreate the vision of each creature, and enable players to control the avatar by body movements through body tracking technology, aiming to embrace a closer non-human perspective.
