About
My identity as a visual artist reflects my interests in digital art and electronic music. This has led me to develop a practice in audio-visual arts and filmmaking. I've since embraced these aspirations by taking on a junior design role at The Warehouse Project and Parklife, working on the identities for some of Manchester's biggest electronic music events. Recently my self-directed work has involved the process of deep mapping, looking at the Peak District as subject matter for narrative storytelling and experimental film works.
Common Ground is a collaborative installation by myself, Abbie Fowler and Freya Boothroyd, exploring the two main regions of the Peak District - the White Peak and the Dark Peak, each defined by their distinct geological identities. The installation brings the landscapes into the exhibition space, immersing the audience in our research and findings. Incorporating found data, image archives, physical materials, and film, the work features a curated collection of objects and photographs, framed by a dual-projection film and palindromic poem. My contributions include creating the dual-projection film and designing the exhibition brochure to further explore the project’s subject matter.
