Yingying Liu is an artist specializing in digital creation and sculptural installations, whose practice spans virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and spatial storytelling to explore the perceptual boundaries between the physical and the virtual. Transforming traditional sculptural language into digital construction logic, she uses XR technologies as a creative medium to build immersive environments that can be inhabited—both physically and emotionally. Centered on themes of perception, embodiment, and self-identity, her work challenges conventional notions of success, social norms, and personal identity through nonverbal interaction, embodied experience, and spatialized narrative. For her, digital art should not be confined to screens; it should extend into tactile, permeable thresholds—becoming something audiences can sense and move through.
