About
My identity as a visual artist reflects my interests in digital art and electronic music. This has led me to develop a practice in audio-visual arts and filmmaking. I've since embraced these aspirations by taking on a junior design role at The Warehouse Project and Parklife, working on the identities for some of Manchester's biggest electronic music events. Recently my self-directed work has involved the process of deep mapping, looking at the Peak District as subject matter for narrative storytelling and experimental film works.
Overexposed is an investigation into the wreckage of a B29 Flying Fortress which crashed on remote moorland at Bleaklow, in the Peak District. Drawing influence from the deep-mapping strategies of Michael Shanks and Clifford McLucas, the project combines new and archival footage with my creative responses to produce a hybrid of documentary and experimental filmmaking. Multiple narratives of the aircraft are explored and coalesced throughout the film, including its former role as a photographic reconnaissance plane for nuclear tests on Bikini Atoll, the event of the crash and my own journey of discovery. Overexposed has been selected to be shown at Unthinkable Film Festival in October 2025.
