Born in Guangzhou, China, moved to Canada when I was 15 years old. I am a non-binary lesbian digital and conceptual artist. Graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, majored in Visual Arts (BFA), and Royal College of Art, majored in Digital Direction (MA). Primarily practicing Digital & Video Art, Photography, Text, Sculpture, and Graphic design. My style is surrealist with playfulness and humour, using my subconscious, emotions, and personal experiences as the sources of inspiration. I use both original and found images, videos, and objects for manipulation and juxtaposition to create visual aesthetics and meanings. Three-Dimensional Journey combines an interactive website (https://yanliangstudio.com/spirituality) with an experimental film interwoven with performance art. The film serves as an extension and expansion of the website, unfolding philosophical ideas that connect spirituality, reality and dreams, healing, truth, wishing, and awakening. Viewed from a third-person perspective, it becomes a metaphor for the first-person perspective. I hope I can help you wake up, and I hope we can all awaken together — aware of our power of self-agency, and awakened from the belief that external forces control destiny. In collaboration with music designer Yuan Tong Lin, we created experimental electronic music intended for meditation and manifestation. Healing frequencies include: 528Hz — transformation and miracles 741Hz — awakening intuition 396Hz — liberation from fear Wishing frequencies include: 1111Hz — alignment with divine guidance and the supportive energy of guardian angels Although these frequencies cannot be physically heard, they are believed to positively affect the brain.
