About

Studio Haritini Gritzali is a design practice based in Athens, Greece. Gritzali’s work explores design as a form of storytelling. While the studio moves fluidly across disciplines, each project is a fragment of the same poetic world - unfolding between structure and emotion, tangibility and imagination, the familiar and the enigmatic. The connecting thread lies in a unique visual language shaped by architectural forms, refined use of material and colour, human scale, high-end craftsmanship and conceptual clarity.Founded by Haritini Gritzali, the studio builds on her background in architecture and object design. She holds a Diploma of Architectural Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2018, honors) and a Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship from École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (2023, honors). Before establishing her own practice, she worked on high-end design projects in Greece, Sweden, and Switzerland. Her portfolio includes collaborations with renowned studios and firms such as Hermès, De Bethune, Note Design Studio, and MplusM Architects. Gkritzali’s work has been recognised through international selections and awards, including a nomination for the Piranesi Award (2018), the De Bethune Prize (2023, ECAL), and the Jewellery Award in the Global Design Graduate Show (2023, Artsthread x Gucci).

TOPOLOGY OF A BODY

Specialisms:

Jewelry Product Design

Deriving inspiration from 20th century orthopedic braces, “Topology of a body” is a series of body jewellery that closely conform to the human anatomy and resemble the body’s structural elements. Each piece is composed by solid geometrical shapes and organic curves that are created with stainless steel or copper wire. The thickness of the wire is altered in a dynamic rythm, highlighting the morphology of the body. This metal structure that is carefully designed to enfold the human figure, ultimately takes a sculptural form. Just like orthopedic braces, the jewelry is constructed in a way that allows the body to move, whereas it seems to hold it in a state of constant stillness. This paradox eventually raises a question: do these objects enable the movement of the body or restrain it?
