About
I am a fashion designer with a strong foundation in textile art, combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary techniques in clothing contexts. My work explores cultural heritage, storytelling through fashion, while often reinterpreting archival materials and feelings into gender-inclusive collections. With previous experience in footwear, jewelry, and graphic arts, I approach design as both a craft and a narrative medium, using several creative mediums in my work.
Weaving Identities explores how cultural identity evolves through clothing and textiles in the context of migration and globalisation, focusing on the Vlach/Aromanian ethnic group, whose traditions and language are gradually fading. The project began with an over 70-year-old woven fabric created by my grandmother, which inspired a field trip to Central Macedonia, Greece, where part of my family once lived, to study traditional weaving techniques and folkloric clothing. This fabric's motif is reinterpreted in the collection using contemporary methods such as digital knitting and digital printing. By combining family archives, fragments of history and storytelling through fashion, the collection investigates how fading traditions can be reimagined and preserved, making them relevant for younger generations.
