Corina Brändle is a Swiss designer with a wide range of interests. Guided by a strong sense of spatial design, she completed her training in visual merchandising. She then deepened her passion for graphic design during her bachelor’s studies. Her creative approach is shaped by analogue processes, from print experiments to material explorations — and is exemplified in her final thesis, Material Specimen.
The Material Specimen consolidates the exploration of selected materials in solid and liquid states. I understood the material as input, or as a starting point for exploratory design series. Materiality was used as a design tool, with which I worked both analog and digital. The collected print samples, aesthetics, approaches, and insights were then categorized and documented. The collection defines itself as a living and open archive that will henceforth allow new perspectives, designs, and processes.
