In my process, I often work with known or found features, pulling them out of their usual context and exploring them through multiple experiments - until something clicks. My recent project Meet Table investigates how outdoor furniture can engage with the history and everyday life of Copenhagen’s Meatpacking District, becoming a shared surface and making it feel relevant and situated in its context.
The project was motivated by a curiosity of how furniture can relevantly take part in the conversation of public spaces beyond function. The site was Copenhagen's Meatpacking District. An industrial heritage site with rich history that now are acting as an asphalt park - full of bars and restaurant. The result was deeply influenced by a co-design process with the site's stakeholders, contemporary use and industrial history. Trying to signify relevance situated through history, assembly and use. The prototype was made in collaboration with HAUGAARD A/S.
