In the spring of 2025, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Fine Art at HDK-Valand in Gothenburg. I am now set to begin a Master’s program in Art et Espace at HEAR (Haute École des Arts du Rhin) in Mulhouse, France.
Choosing art has allowed me to combine my social engagement with my creative drive. Through my work, I seek to visually express personal reflections on everyday elements that disturb or intrigue me. Topics I have explored include anthropocentrism and the human/animal relationship, the ecological consequences of plantation forests in the Nordic region, discrimination against trans people, the hidden costs of the service industry, and class divisions between passengers and workers on cruise ships. My primary medium is figurative painting in acrylic and oil, but I also work with metal sculpture. Over the past year, I have been developing painterly installations, and I look forward to further combining painting and sculpture in immersive installation work.
I had 22 jobs before turning 26, most in the service industry - experiences that shaped my art. With Ocean Dream, I turned to the cruise industry to explore starker inequalities between workers and passengers. Cruise lines register ships in marginalized economies, making luxury more affordable while relying on underpaid labor. Workers endure 12-hour shifts, entire seasons without rest, and windowless cabins deep in the ship, while passengers enjoy ocean views and suites. Using surrealism, I visualize this closed-off world where dreams of luxury coexist with invisible labor in starkly divided realities.
