About
I’m Rahaf, a Palestinian jewelry designer from Nazareth and a recent graduate of Shenkar College. My work is inspired by nature, man-made architecture, and my Palestinian heritage, drawing on the intersections and tensions that arise when these worlds meet. I see my jewelry as a stage where different realities collide, revealing both harmony and friction. My identity allows me to explore duality and contrast, translating complex emotions and cultural narratives into physical, wearable art that comes to life on the human body.
The project explores the complexity of the Palestinian identity of the “Arabs of 48,” the inability to fully celebrate it, and the tension between belonging and not belonging. My jewelry reflects the duality and contradictions I experience in navigating these emotions. I express this tension through shapes, embroidery, and movements that emerge from the interaction between object and body, mirroring unity and division. Through my work, I sought to create a personal language to express complex emotions. materials: brass, polypropylene, waxed string, leather rope.
